Cash transaction.

Today’s photo from the hip is by Molly. She sneaked this shot while in the market in Hoi An, Vietnam. I like how she managed to capture the vendor handing back change. I also like to think the vendor might be friends with this lady.

Thanks, Molly!

Shopkeeper.

Today’s photo from the hip comes from Rachel at Parsnip. She’s an English lady who married a Scottish man and blogs about their adventures.

Rachel submitted this photo that she took in the Thamel district of Kathmandu, Nepal. She says that this shopkeeper couldn’t resist mingling with his buddies in the street…even if it meant leaving his shop unattended and customers waiting. I love how you can clearly see that Rachel is inside the shop and the shopkeeper is not!

Thanks, Rachel!

Break a sweat.

Today’s photo from the hip is from Vientiane, Laos. I got a kick out of this outdoor aerobics class right in the middle of the waterfront. As you can imagine, I felt a little weird taking a photo. I didn’t want to be the lurking pervert with a camera. So a photo from the hip it was!

Park bubbles.

Today’s photo from the hip comes from Sarah, my good friend and former co-worker. I’m still not sure how I would have survived those long and crazy days teaching without running down to her room during breaks.

Sarah submitted this photo that she took at a park in Istanbul, Turkey. I love how the little boy with the trumpet/bubble machine is setting some ambiance for the couple sitting on the bench.

Thanks, Sarah!

Blue car.

Today’s photo from the hip comes from Elin at Taste of Slow, a travel + vegetarian food blog. What a great combination!

Elin submitted this photo that she took at a fishing village in St. Louis, Senegal. I really like the powerful contrast between the blue and yellow colors. And that car. Between the passengers inside and the load on top, I’m impressed.

Thanks, Elin!

Bench and balloon.

I’m still working on settling in, sleeping at appropriate hours, and keeping track of the days. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to ask the question, “What day is it?” However, I’m pretty sure today is Friday…

Today’s photo from the hip is by Magalie. She took this beautiful image at the Cismigiu Gardens in Bucharest, Romania. I love how at least 3 generations are represented in this picture. And how that carrousel horse balloon is perfectly detailed.

Thanks, Magalie!

And don’t forget about the giveaway!!!
