Auf wiedersehen, adieu.
Thank you friends and family for a fantastic six weeks in the Pacific Northwest. I’ve arrived safely back in Abu Dhabi where it’s hot, humid, and the middle of Ramadan.

Knees, please!
Because I can.
When I realized how few days I had left in the States, I decided to make the best of it. In short skirts.
When you take great care to not expose your knees in public for months on end, it’s a bit of a thrill to let them lose again.

Note: The teal dress just barely qualifies if I hold my shoulders back… and the shorts are because I wasn’t about to hike Skyline Divide in a skirt!

Home.
Sweet. Home.
I arrived last night to a very warm welcome at the airport that included hugs, balloons, fresh blueberries and cherries, and more hugs!
The fun didn’t stop there. When I walked into my room (since converted to studio space), my bed was covered in gifts from my sister, including this bouquet on my nightstand.
Despite my excitement over being home, I was feeling anxious due to the fact that one piece of my luggage was lost on the first leg of my journey. Luckily, I was informed tonight that it has been located and is on its way here. Thank goodness.
My goal is to spend the next few days catching up on the blogging so be sure to check back. Some of the posts will likely be post dated, so scroll all the way down before you click out.

Update your calendars.
I hope you wrote in pencil.
If you’re a planner, like myself, the best part of living in the UAE is the ever-changing school calendar. We were directed to not book any flights prior to July 9th. So I didn’t.
Revision.
Now apparently we are permitted to leave July 8th. So I am.
Quick(ish) phone call and a few extra dollars later… I’m coming home a day early on July 8th… just in time to attend my cousin’s wedding!
