Last night we returned from a fantastic trip to Sri Lanka. It is such a beautiful and diverse country. Despite its small size, Sri Lanka presents quite the challenge for travelers hoping to see it all. In most places, the simple roads cause what may seem to be a short distance to take a long time to traverse. The 98 kilometer drive to our first destination would be a good example. It took 4 hours. Thankfully, friends who visited previously had given us fair warning. We decided to keep our explorations limited to the southern part of the country. In the future, I’d love to see what the interior and eastern coast have to offer.
Lugging around my new toy camera was a bit annoying… but I love the instant photos. Explaining “polaroid” technology to the locals was fun too.
Here’s the instant photo version of our itinerary:
Before I get any further into Sri Lanka I want to post about my recent trip to Oman. After that, who knows… there might just be a giveaway on the horizon…
xo, jill
yay, elephants!!!
These are super cute snapshots- makes me want to go so bad! Can’t wait to see more!!
Taune, I don’t know where your comment disappeared to… but there were so many elephants! Happy elephants living in a giant wildlife reserve area. I have some super cute photos of them all nuzzling each other!
Is it a real polaroid camera? Fun! Sri Lanka looks really nice and laid back
OMG OMG. So, I guess it has been too long since I’ve visited your blog. That will change. Love the new look!!! So cool. And the Places Ive Seen section!
Oh, I can’t wait to see the rest of the ‘phants! I commented directly from Google Reader for the first time ever. I blame that! Glad I came to follow up on the post!
